What's the Difference Between Related & Neighboring Ideas?
Direct connections vs indirect nearness with a single concept
You’ll notice when selecting a single concept in a playpen that it becomes bordered by four buttons, on the top and bottom, right and left.
Those on the top and bottom search for what are termed ‘Neighboring’ concepts – top button statements, bottom button topics.
Those on the right and left, by contrast, search for ‘Related’ concepts: those which are already linked with this one in another playpen. Left button topics, right button statements.
Related
Search related concepts to see how others have further built on a concept, one link at a time.
Tapping one of the horizontal buttons will create a ‘search link’ on the same side. Typing in the field will filter search results that don’t match – case-insensitively – the search link’s text.
Neighboring
Warning: These search types are still a work-in-progress. Uses details of the selected concept to find new – nearby – concepts that you might see as worth linking with in some way.
