Your Polylude Presence
Why backups can only be partial, and what is lost when you (or others) leave
When others interact with your ideas, your Polylude presence becomes more than the sum of your thoughts. And as your own views change with time, you may naturally prune or edit your ideas. So you might also like to consider how these changes will affect those who have built on your earlier thoughts. Any links that you or others have created to deleted concepts — across possibly many playpens — will automatically disappear.
When you download a backup of your Polylude data, only your ideas and how you have linked with others’ are saved to the backup. The links that others have made to your ideas will not be included in backups. If you have built on another account’s concepts, and their owner deletes them after you created backups, those ideas will not be restored using your backup (as backups will only reference the ideas, rather than copy their contents).
