Gifting history

You can navigate to your account’s history of gifted funds from your subscription settings, by tapping ‘Manage funds’ then ‘Gifting history’.

The listing shows the most recent gift at the top, with each indexed by its giftee, the gifted amount, and the gift’s current status.

The possible statuses are:

  • Awaiting redeem

The initial status of a gift, indicating that it is waiting to be redeemed by a giftee.

  • Awaiting activation

The gift has been redeemed, but the giftee has not yet used the funds to activate a subscription.

  • Redeemed on [Date]

The giftee activated a subscription using the gifted funds. [Date] is substituted for when their subscription was activated.

  • Redeemed

The giftee redeemed the gift, but didn’t activate an account using its funds.

  • Rewarded

Once you and the giftee maintained your subscriptions for a given time after a gift was ‘Redeemed’, it shows a ‘Rewarded’ status.

  • Not rewarded

Shows if the giftee didn’t maintain their subscription.

  • Canceled

If you cancel a gift, its funds revert to your account balance, and the gift shows a ‘Canceled’ status.

  • Rejected

If a gift was rejected by the giftee, you can give it a new giftee. At which point it will show ‘Awaiting redeem’ again.

Forwarding & Updating

When a listed gift is awaiting redemption or rejected, you may redirect the gift. Tapping on the gift will show or hide details of the gift.

We can’t forward gifts on your behalf, but offer a ‘Forward code to giftee’ link below the chosen recipient. Tapping on this link will try to open your local Email client where you can fill in a custom message.

If you don’t have a local mail client set up, you can tap on the gift code to copy it to the clipboard for forwarding.

Changing a gift’s ‘To’ field

The ‘To’ field, shown for gifts awaiting redemption or rejected, is mostly an insurance policy: that those entering the code are the intended recipient.

If you want to make your gift first-come-first-served, you can empty this field. Or if you want to redirect the gift, simply change to a new address. Once you’ve changed the gift’s recipient, tap ‘Update Gift’ to save your change.

Cancelling Gifts

When a gift is awaiting redemption or rejected, you can tap on its ‘Cancel Gift’ button to restore the gift’s account credit to your account, and make the gift unavailable for redeeming.
