Activating a Subscription
Started on gifted credit? How to stay active. Or without? Just a few steps to activate.
Visiting Polylude while connected to an ‘inactive’ account will start by showing a form to authorize ongoing payments. If this form doesn’t appear, your subscription is active (though perhaps still temporary).
It’s possible to tap out of this form. If you’d like to open it later (as long as the account is still inactive), use the ‘Activate Account’ option in the account pane menu.
Temporary Subscriptions
When you’ve redeemed gift(s) before activating your account, the form offers an extra choice.
If you’re not yet sure whether Polylude is right for you, you may prefer to play around before setting up other payments.
Once you’ve chosen a plan and noted your country of residence, you will see how long you could play with a temporary subscription before your Polylude presence would expire1.
If you are happy with the available time, and don’t want to set a payment method, tap ‘Maybe later. Activate temporary account’.
Alternatively…
It’s also possible to activate your account by adding your first payment method through your subscription settings and tapping ‘Set payment method’.
Note that before adding a payment method, you’ll need to set your current country of residence.
Tapping ‘New Card to Activate Subscription’ will bring up a payment form, detailing the chosen plan. Tapping ‘Submit’ will attempt your first payment, adding the card to your account at the same time. If the payment goes through, your account will then be active and you can start sharing.
Once the account is active, the set payment method will be charged at the end of each billing cycle. To see when the current billing cycle ends, check the summary at the top of your subscription settings
